Objectives

This course has been designed to make current and recent evidence available for the purpose of contributing to scientific knowledge by addressing several relevant matters in relation to assisted human reproduction. 

It allows gynaecologists to treat their patients with specialised knowledge gained from ground-breaking research in relation to matters such as the endometrium and ovarian stimulation and to update their knowledge of techniques such as ovarian rejuvenation.

The primary objective of this course is to obtain knowledge on current subjects such as the endometrium and its importance in implantation, ovarian stimulation and new protocols available to improve the approach taken to patients and to individualise treatment to achieve live birth. The course is also meant to update medical professionals’ knowledge of the most recent and innovative techniques in the field of assisted human reproduction such as ovarian rejuvenation. Increasingly, these techniques are being developed and applied in day-to-day practice.

In the reproduction process, implantation is among the most important procedures used to achieve pregnancy. To this end, the endometrium must be receptive and therefore prepared for the implantation of the embryo. For this reason, the approach taken to treat the embryo is important, as it is a key step towards the goal of achieving pregnancy.

In addition, the processes involved in assisted human reproduction usually include ovarian stimulation, the goal of which is to obtain safely the greatest possible number of healthy ova. Hence, with regard to reproduction, it is of paramount importance that medical professionals are informed of available protocols and the latest progress made in pertinent research.

Lastly, it is worth noting that medicine has made great progress in recent years, and medical professionals must be aware of this progress to ensure that their patients will benefit from up-to-date information whenever possible. Therefore, understanding innovative techniques and the associated research helps gynaecologists to identify patients who show potential to be treated successfully with the said techniques.
